Gary Wood began his study of Kenpo under Master Ken McGuire in 1993. He trained briefly with Jack Schamburger while working in Manhattan. Upon his return to Atlanta, Mr. Wood sought out Master Pat Munk and began his formal training in Tracy’s Kenpo Karate, the Joe Lewis Fighting System, Kenpo Instruction and the Tracy Business System.
Master Munk recommended Mr. Wood for his Tracy’s Instructors Certification in March 2002 (Certificate Number I-1590) and administered his Shodan test in July 2003 (Certificate Number B1979-927).
Mr. Wood has attended seminars by Grandmaster Al Tracy, Master Dave Simmons, Master David German, Master Pat Munk, Ken McGuire, Jim Thompson, Tony Lopez, Professor Wayne Carman, Adam “Bar None” Guerra, and Master Dave Domer. He continues to study under Master Munk while operating the Gwinnett studio for Georgia Kenpo.
Mr. Wood was promoted to Nidan on March 8, 2005, by Master Munk.
